When I started as a voiceover artist, I wanted a microphone that would "grow with me." So I invested in a "top of the line," high-def AKG c414. Musicians and audiophiles congratulated me on the mic and what a great choice I made......
... Except hi-def means it shows EVERYTHING. Even the flaws (makeup can't hide the wrinkles like less pixels, dear video actors!).
On the advice of a fellow VO artist I respect, I tried out the much less expensive Audio Technica 875R shotgun mic. I sent blind comparison samples to my mentor, fellow artists, and non VO friends to see what they thought. The AT won 100% of listeners!!! Goes to show money can't buy everything.
So for my clients, I now offer a improved audio quality with a warmer, richer tone with the same great delivery and voice you've already come to know. I've already loaded new demos here and on my social media pages. I'm excited for you to hear the upgrade!
