Full disclosure: I'm only a little biased. (haha)
AI is cheaper, it's getting pretty good (or passable) and with time constraints, and you may be able to get an AI voice faster or overnight.
HOWEVER: A lot of my work is re-recording AI voiced projects. The human brain can tell when it's not real (and shuts off! Source). Humans can convey emotion, vary rate and response, and knowns how to pronounce some of those specialized abbreviations.
If you could get a live voice with affordable rates and 24 hour turnaround for most projects, which one is really best for you?
